Located at 2910 N Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60657, Szechuan Corner operates as a chinese restaurant serving Chicago in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Chicago; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. Typical hours are 11:30 amβ9:30 pm. It is closed on Tuesday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (773) 799-8586. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is szechuancorner.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 258 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Chicago and suggests consistent service.
Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

In my experience today the food was not good. The bbq pork with vegetables was all wet. Imagine some rubbery bbq (not sliced but cut like a long carrot stick) that was served in a watery gruel with some vegetable. It was sort of gross The kung pao chicken was also way too saucy and wet. It was breaded, so it was just a bunch of mush covered chicken. Unappetizing. The bbq pork rice was good. Not wet. The white rice was also good. I will not be back even though other dishes are probably fine. This was just my experience ordering off of the lunch special.

I ordered something basic and it came out ridiculously fast. Food was hot, delicious, and cooked well. Portions were generous. Beef was tender. Very pleased with experience.

Idk how the rating is so high for this place because the food is sooo mid and they have an unwelcoming attitude. Iβve been twice and tried to give it a chance but have been disappointed with the quality both times. The second time I went they also charged me different prices than what was on the menu stating βprice increasesβ. About a $3 difference. Which wasnβt worth it all. Almost $16 for some white rice and chicken is crazy. I wonβt be back.

Update: My first visit was definitely a positive one but after ordering delivery many times, some of the food I ordered left me disappointed. Some food like chicken (general tso, seasme) and fried rice came very dry, overcooked. There was another time when the noodles came uncooked and it almost broke into little pieces. I don't know if the chef changed but I hope there is some consistency in the food quality. 1st review This place has a high rating for a reason. They use good ingredients, the staff is very nice, food+restaurant is clean, and food like spicy dry pot Szechuan style is pretty authentic. After trying it out today, I feel more confident to try dishes with duck and lamb next time which means it left a nice impression on us. Definitely recommend to anyone living around the area. It's at a large quiet parking lot. The atmosphere is more of a take out restaurant but I did not mind eating there because it was clean and the staff does his best to take good care of you.

Delicious and a great addition to the neighborhood! They are so friendly too. We tried the crab rangoon, Szechuan wontons, beef chow fun, house special spicy lamb, orange chicken, and chicken fried rice. They included coconut and mango pudding for dessert. The homemade sweet and sour and chili oil are delicious. We will definitely make ordering from here a regular thing! I love spicy dishes and canβt wait to try more dishes!
